Who provides MyMundus

MyMundus is provided by the MyMundus developer (GitHub: klysown). Contact harun.cingoz@gmail.com with privacy questions.

Information you choose to store

You can store journeys, route endpoints and stops, travel dates, operators, service numbers, booking references, prices and currencies, notes, companions, custom fields, GPX route geometry, and selected photos. An optional name is saved locally for globe-video headings. These records are stored in the app's local storage. They are not uploaded to a developer-operated server.

No developer tracking or account service

The app requires no account and contains no advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. The developer does not receive your travel archive, attached photos, or saved name through normal app use and does not sell these records.

Apple Maps and online requests

Place searches, suggested directions, and detailed maps use Apple's MapKit services. Search terms, requested places and route coordinates, and information needed to provide maps may be processed by Apple. These requests are subject to Apple's privacy policy and relevant service terms. MyMundus does not access or track your device's current GPS location. You can enter coordinates manually and use the bundled globe and saved records offline.

Photos and files

The system photo picker lets you select individual images to attach. Copies of those selected images are resized and saved in the app; the app does not request full photo-library access to attach images. When you choose Save video, the app requests add-only Photos permission to save the generated video. You can change permission in iPhone Settings. Denying permission does not prevent you from using the app or sharing the video file.

The system file picker grants access to files you select for JSON backup or GPX import. File-size checks help reject oversized imports. Selected files and attached images are processed locally. The app does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, or background location.

Backups and security

Exported JSON backups include travel records, booking references, notes, photos, and route geometry. MyMundus does not encrypt exported backup files. Protect them using a trusted storage location and share them only with people you choose. Local archive and newly written photo files use Apple's file protection; this is not a claim that the app provides a separate encrypted vault.

Apple device backups, including iCloud device backup when enabled, may include app data according to your Apple settings. MyMundus does not provide iCloud synchronization between devices. The developer cannot retrieve a lost archive or restore your device backup.

Sharing and generated videos

You decide when and where to export or share. Globe videos include the selected routes and locations, your caption, optional name, and optional totals. They omit booking references, prices, notes, and attached photos. Your route locations remain visible. Saving or sharing can send the chosen file to Photos, a cloud storage provider, a messaging app, or another destination you select. Those destinations have their own privacy practices. MyMundus does not automatically post to Instagram or any other service.

Retention, recovery, and deletion

Records are retained locally until you delete them. Deleting a route or journey removes its records and attached photo files that are no longer referenced by another record. Photos added to an editor but not saved are cleaned up when the editor closes or the app next opens.

Before importing over an existing archive, the app keeps one complete local recovery snapshot containing the prior records and photos. Settings lets you restore or delete that snapshot. Saving an edited route or deleting a route or journey also discards it. Old development-version recovery files may remain until Delete all local data is used.

Settings → Delete all local data removes local journeys, attached photos, recovery snapshots, temporary globe videos, and saved preferences. It does not delete files already exported outside the app, videos saved to Photos, or historical device backups. Delete those separately through their storage provider or Apple settings. Temporary globe exports more than one day old are also cleaned up during a later export.

Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, normally removes its local storage. Restoring a device backup can restore older data. The developer holds no copy of your local archive and cannot delete external copies for you.
